Soutache is a flat, decorative cord with a distinctive herringbone texture. Thanks to its soft texture, the cord can be effortlessly formed into difficult curves and symmetrical patterns.
Soutache cords are ideal for "clamping" cabochons, beads, and Swarovski crystals.
The material frays very little and retains its sheen, even with intensive use. Use a thin needle (such as a size 10 or 12 beading needle) and high-quality nylon thread (C-lon beading cord, 0.3 or 0.4 mm thick) to conceal the stitches almost invisibly between the grooves of the cord.

Soutache is more than just a cord: it's a technique. By sewing multiple layers of cord around beads, you can create impressive earrings, pendants for necklaces, brooches, and clothing details.
